We're seeking a talented Designer/Draftsperson to join our team and support the full spectrum of our work—from architectural drafting to interior design and furnishing. In this role, you’ll help translate the vision of the Principal Designer into thoughtful plans, specifications, and styled spaces. Your work will shape both the technical and creative sides of our projects, ensuring design intent is clearly communicated and beautifully executed.

Job Title: Designer/Draftsperson

Job Description:

As a Designer/Draftsperson, you will play a dual role in the architectural and interior design process. You’ll be responsible for developing detailed construction drawings, supporting space planning, and collaborating on finishes, furnishings, and styling selections. Your creativity and technical expertise will help bridge design concepts with practical implementation, ensuring every detail contributes to a cohesive and inspiring home.

Drafting & Technical

• Produce detailed drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details, primarily using Chief Architect Premier.

• Ensure drawings comply with relevant drafting standards, building codes, zoning regulations, and firm guidelines.

• Collaborate with construction teams, engineers, and consultants to coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.

• Maintain clear, organized documentation of all drawings, revisions, and specifications.

• Review and refine drawings for accuracy, completeness, and clarity, resolving discrepancies as needed.

Interior Design & Styling

• Assist with space planning, finish schedules, and selections for materials, fixtures, and furnishings.

• Create mood boards, palettes, and concept presentations that communicate design direction to clients.

• Support the design team in sourcing, specifying, and procuring furnishings, lighting, textiles, and accessories.

• Contribute to installation and final styling of interiors, ensuring projects are cohesive and ready for client presentation.

• Stay current with design trends, products, and vendors to bring fresh ideas to projects.

Project Collaboration

• Partner closely with the Principal Designer to carry design intent from concept through execution.

• Communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and contractors to clarify design and technical details.

• Manage workload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in alignment with project schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Drafting Technology, Architecture, or related field.

• Proficiency in Chief Architect Premier, SketchUp, and 3D Warehouse, with comfort in an Apple/iCloud ecosystem.

• Strong understanding of architectural principles, construction methods, and materials.

• Knowledge of interior design practices, finish selections, and furnishings.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience in a design or architectural firm preferred but not required.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and practices.

• Experience with 3D rendering or visualization tools (SketchUp, Enscape, or AI visualization tools).

• Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva preferred.

• Vendor sourcing and procurement experience.

• Certification or licensure in drafting or interior design may be advantageous.
