This dual role blends high-level design leadership with studio operations, making you a cornerstone in both the creative and organizational success of our firm. With deep experience in luxury residential furnishings and interiors, you’ll lead client projects, manage vendor and procurement relationships, and ensure our studio runs smoothly and efficiently.

Job Description:
As a Senior Interior Designer / Studio Manager, you will guide client projects from concept through completion while overseeing the daily operations of our design studio. You’ll be responsible for delivering exceptional client experiences, leading a team in creative direction, and managing the behind-the-scenes processes that keep projects on track. Your expertise in luxury furnishings, procurement, and project coordination will be key to ensuring that every detail is thoughtfully managed and beautifully executed.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership

• Lead client projects from initial concept through final installation, ensuring design intent is carried out at the highest standard.

• Oversee space planning, finish and furnishing selections, and design presentations.

• Provide mentorship and direction to junior designers and draftspersons.

• Maintain a refined design sensibility rooted in luxury residential interiors.

Studio & Project Management

• Manage studio operations, including maintaining and updating the sample library.

• Organize and streamline design processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy across all projects.

• Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met and quality is upheld.

• Foster clear communication between clients, contractors, vendors, and the internal team.

Procurement & Vendor Relations

• Source, specify, and purchase furnishings, fixtures, textiles, and accessories from trade vendors.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, showrooms, and craftspeople.

• Oversee procurement, order tracking, and logistics to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

• Resolve issues related to orders, lead times, and installations with professionalism and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of professional experience in luxury home furnishings or residential interior design (independent, firm-based, or showroom-based).

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or related field preferred but not required.

• Proven ability to lead client-facing projects from concept through installation.

• Strong organizational skills with experience managing sample libraries, studio operations, and team workflows.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

• Deep knowledge of trade vendors, furnishings, textiles, and finishes.

• Strong track record of managing procurement, logistics, and vendor relationships.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Chief Architect, and Microsoft/Apple productivity tools.

• Experience mentoring and managing junior design staff.

• Familiarity with project management platforms or procurement software such as JobTread.

• Strong network of vendor and showroom contacts in the luxury design space.

• Experience in construction-adjacent design/build projects is advantageous.
